30 years age limit for UGC NET-2018, more candidates to apply

New Delhi. According to the notification released by Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, the paper patterns and age relaxation for UGC NET exam- 2018 has been changed to encourage more aspiring candidates to apply for the same.

The paper pattern for UGC NET 2018 examination has been modified to include Paper 1 of 100 marks with 50 questions of 1 hour duration. Paper 2 would be of 2 hours duration with 100 questions and 200 marks. All the questions in Paper 1 and Paper 2 would be compulsory. Also the Upper age limit for JRF or Junior Research Fellowship has been raised by two years, from 28 years to 30 years thereby giving age relaxation to candidates.

The notification further says that the NET exam is scheduled for July 8, 2018. The online application forms would start on the official website www.cbsenet.nic.in from March 6 and closes on April 5,2018.

It is a widely known fact that UGC made NET qualification compulsory for appointments of teachers in Colleges and Universities since July 2009 but given 5% relaxation to Phd qualifiers.
